Mandoline à fond plat des années 1920, style européen (Italie ou France). Corps en forme de larme avec table bombée en épicéa (ou bois léger similaire), typique des mandolines du début du XXe siècle, conçue pour améliorer la résonance tout en simplifiant la fabrication. Pickguard incrusté de motifs floraux en nacre, filet de marqueterie, rosace ovale, chevalet flottant en bois (d’origine) et cordier en métal. Touche en palissandre avec repères en nacre, tête ajourée avec 8 mécaniques. Fond monobloc en acajou. Luthier non identifié.
1920s Flatback Mandolin, European style (Italy or France). Teardrop-shaped with a bent spruce (or similar light wood) top, a common feature in early 20th-century mandolins to enhance resonance while simplifying construction. Inlaid pickguard with nacre (mother-of-pearl) floral motifs; marquetry purfling, oval soundhole, original floating wooden bridge, and metal tailpiece. Rosewood fingerboard with nacre position markers; slotted headstock with 8 tuning machines. One-piece mahogany back. Luthier unidentified.
