CREWE HOUSE. IMPRESSIONNANT ET RARE CABINET JAPONAIS EN LAQUE MONTÉ SUR PIÈTEMENT. FIN XVIIÈME SIÈCLE et fronton anglais. Le cabinet ouvre par deux vantaux sur un ensemble de onze tiroirs, à décor doré et polychrome de paysages et personnages. Fin XVIIème siècle. Japon et Angleterre. William & Mary (1689 – 1702) H.: 238 cm – L.: 105 cm – P.: 53 cm.

La laque est dans un bon état d’origine général, avec seulement quelques zones ayant subi de légères restaurations habituelles. Le piédestal doré présente plusieurs défauts, notamment des cassures et des parties manquantes au niveau des épaules.
IMPRESSIVE AND RARE JAPANESE LACQUER CABINET mounted on an English pedestal and pediment Late 17th century. The cabinet opens with two leaves onto a set of eleven drawers, with gilded and polychrome decoration of landscapes and figures.

Condition report: The lacquer is in generally good original condition, with only a few areas showing light, typical restoration. The gilded pedestal has several defects, including breaks and missing sections around the shoulders.
