Fragment de relief en grès, Inde centrale (Madhya Pradesh ou Rajasthan), XIe–XIIe s
Fragment architectural en grès rose, probablement issu d’un décor de temple hindou médiéval.
La sculpture présente des éléments ornementaux caractéristiques de l’art religieux de l’Inde centrale à la période médiévale. H. 41 cm × L. 31 cm

État : surface érodée, cassures anciennes visibles. Ce type de fragment est typique des ensembles sculptés des temples de Khajuraho ou des sites du Rajasthan, tels que les temples de Baroli, datés des Xe–XIIe siècles. Il témoigne de la richesse iconographique et du raffinement stylistique de l’art religieux de l’Inde médiévale.

The carving features ornamental elements typical of Central Indian religious art from the medieval period. H. 41 cm × L. 31 cm

Condition: surface erosion, visible ancient breaks. This type of fragment is characteristic of sculptural ensembles from temples such as those at Khajuraho or Baroli in Rajasthan, dating from the 10th–12th centuries.

It reflects the iconographic richness and stylistic refinement of medieval Indian religious art.
