Chine, dans le style de la dynastie Shang, XIe siècle av. J.-C.
Un ding rituel archaïque en bronze coulé, reprenant les formes cérémonielles emblématiques de la dynastie Shang. Le vase repose sur trois pieds droits et robustes, et est flanqué de deux anses verticales s’élevant depuis le bord. Le corps globulaire est orné de motifs stylisés de masques taotie en faible relief, symboles caractéristiques de l’art rituel du bronze chinois ancien. La surface présente une patine verte marbrée.

État de conservation : Bon état général avec usure de surface.
Provenance : Ancienne collection du Château de Coudrée, château français du XIIe siècle.
Large Ritual Bronze Tripod Vessel “Ding”
China, in the style of the Shang Dynasty, 11th century BC
A cast archaic ritual bronze ding, echoing the ceremonial forms of the Shang Dynasty. The vessel rests on three robust, straight legs and is flanked by a pair of upright loop handles rising from the rim. The globular body is adorned with stylized taotie mask motifs in shallow relief, emblematic of early Chinese bronze ritual artistry. The surface bears a mottled green patina.

Condition: Good overall condition with surface wear.
Provenance: From the distinguished collection of the Château de Coudrée, a 12th century French château.
