Post Gupta, Bengal, Khadga kings of Samatata, anonymous issue, c. 575-625, AV dinar, 5.79 g. (21 mm). Obverse: stylized representation of the archer type, king standing left, holding bow in left hand and arrow in right, standard surmouned by conch shell at left, border of dots. Reverse: Lakshmi standing right, holding lotus in both hands, cloak flying behind; illegible inscription to right, within inner circle, all in dotted border around. Kumar TOTGE 2024, 18.7.
About EF, with even lustre across the coin on both surfaces, excellent details.
A superb example that differes from the preceding lot by having no star to the right of the king’s head and with the inner circle around Lakshmi in the reverse. Very rare.
