Gupta Empire, Kumaragupta, c. 415-455, AV dinar, 8.21 g. (20 mm). Obverse: ‘archer’ type, king standing left, holding a longbow pointed outward, Garuda standard at left, Brahmi legend in right field, Kumara. Reverse: Lakshmi with halo sitting on seven-petaled lotus, holding long-stemmed lotus flower and diadem, Brahmi legend right, dotted border around.
EF, a wonderfully detailed and deeply struck coin, with a strongly raised Brahmi legend to right of Lakshmi, Sri Mahendra.Very attractive appearance with lustre showing through.
