Gupta Empire, Kumaragupta II, c. 473-476, AV dinar, 9.33 g. (20 mm). Obverse: ‘archer’ type, king standing left, holding a longbow pointed outward, Garuda standard at left, Brahmi Ku under king’s left arm with a crescent above. Reverse: Lakshmi with halo sitting on seven-petaled lotus, holding long-stemmed lotus flower and diadem, Brahmi legend right. Kumar TOTGE 2024, Class III, variety A.
EF. A very rare and well-struck coin with great detail in the king’s clothing, lustre shows through.
