Gupta Empire, Chandragupta II, c. 380-413, AV dinar, 7.95 g. (20 mm). Obverse: ‘archer’ type; king standing looking left, holding an Indian longbow in left hand and an arrow in right, Garuda standard at left, Brahmi legend right of bow, Chandra. Reverse: Lakshmi enthroned, holding diadem and cornucopia, Brahmi legend at right, Sri Vikrimah, tamgha left, dotted border around. Kumar TOTGE 2024, Class III, variety E.
VF, reasonably well-defined details, nice surfaces.
Like the preceding lot, an extremely rare type with nothing similar found on Coinarchives. The king looks left and holds the bow facing him, with Brahmi legend to the right of bowstring. Lakshmi is seated on a throne whose legs are visible.
