Kushanas, Shaka, c. mid-4th century, AV dinar, 7.80 g. (19 mm). Obverse: Shaka, standing facing, head with halo left, wearing conical decorated hat, sacrificing over altar and holding staff, trident with ribbons to left, with Brahmi inscription Shaka at right, and bhri under the king’s arm. Reverse: Ardoksho enthroned, facing, holding garland and cornucopia, tamgha left.
VF-EF decent features, underlying lustre.
This rare Shaka type has the Brahmi letter bhri under the king’s arm.
