Kushanas, Huvishka, c. 151-192, AV dinar, 7.64 g. (21 mm). Obverse: Crowned half-length bust left on clouds, halo around head, flames at shoulders, holding scepter, with Bactrian legend around ÞAONANOÞAO OOηÞKI KOÞANO, king of kings, Huvishka Kushan. Reverse: Shaoreoro standing left, holding shield in extended right hand, and spear in left. Bactrian legend to right PAOPHOPO (Shaoreoro), tamgha to left. VF+ details, some cleaning, well-centered.The Shaoreoro of Zoroastrian religion was the genius of Kushan imperial might and the guardian of the molten metal that was to cover the earth on the Last Day. This extremely rare type shows Shaoreoro turned left and holding his shield in extended hand.
