Description

Kushanas, Huvishka, c. 151-192, AV quarter dinar, 1.93 g. (14 mm). Obverse: diademed and crowned very short bust encircled by Bactrian inscription ÞAONANOÞAO O-OHÞKI KOÞANO (king of kings Huvishka Kushan). Reverse: Miiro standing facing, head to left with radiate halo, right hand raised in benediction, tamgha to left, Bactrian legend MIIRO in right field.

About VF with reasonably well-defined features.

This extremely rare quarter dinar shows the much-reduced bust of Huvishka, compared to the half-length bust of the preceding lot. We find no similar type on Coinarchives.
