Persia, Alexandrine Empire, Mazaios Satrap (governor) of Babylon, c. 331-328 BC. AV Double Daric, 17.20 g. (20mm). Obverse: Baalters (patron deity of Tarsus) seated left, one hand holding sceptre and one holding vine branch on which stands an eagle with wings folded. Reverse: lion biting into the neck of a collapsed bull, in linear square (shallow incuse square).
Choice VF, struck a little high with minimal loss to head and eagle, superb strike and lustrous.
