Le panneau porte les inscriptions Le Cirque / Charlie Chaplin / United Artists. Le Cirque fut le dernier véritable film muet de Chaplin, où il incarne le célèbre “Tramp”, ce vagabond attachant qui, par hasard, rejoint un cirque et tombe amoureux de la fille du propriétaire. À sa sortie en 1928, le film a rapporté plus de 3,8 millions de dollars, une somme colossale pour l’époque.
