Reverse: Radiant sun, with rose in center, over cross with lis at ends; crowned lion passant in each quarter; all within polylobe, with trefoils in spandrel.
About Mint State example of this celebrated English hammered gold type dressed in a lovely and uniform yellow patina and displaying crisp detail throughout, especially on the famed nautical design of the obverse that offers the viewer the wonders of centuries old design styles. Always a popular type because of the intricacy of the design; very rare.
