1859 1 Gr. plate I, state II, used reconstruction, with 59 positions of used stamps, some positions in duplicate examples and, pos. 39-40, 49-50, 73-74, and 91-92 in very attractive pairs. 67 stamps in total. Pos. 61-62, 78-79 and 83-84 in attractive used pairs. Stamps showing some of the retouches that are catalogued in Sassone for this plate. Generally full-margined examples and some with margin, with a few cut close in places. Mostly attractive used stamps with good, fresh colours generally and most with dealers’ or experts’ signatures or handstamps, e.g. Diena. A heroic attempt at reconstructing this very difficult plate of rare stamps (67).
