Lot 20049 – 1840 1d black pl.7 RA-RC left hand marginal horizontal
Left Sheet Mint Marginal Strip of Three
1840 1d Black, Plate 7 (RA–RC) – A left-hand sheet marginal horizontal strip of three, preserved in brilliant mint condition and displaying a deep, rich shade of exceptional visual appeal. The stamps are well-centred with large, balanced margins, enhancing both presentation and rarity.
Light vertical gum bends are present, typical for multiples of this period and entirely unobtrusive, having no impact on the stamps themselves. Overall, this is a superb and scarce multiple, rarely encountered in such attractive condition.
Provenance: Earl of Crawford
