1840 1d. black “VR Official” PL, a magnificent and unrivalled single example from the right of the sheet, showing small part inscription with balanced margins on other sides virtually full original gum, and showing lovely fresh colour; an incredible single example and surely one of the finest in existence. A rarity for the connoisseur.
