1840 1d black pl.6 IA and 1840 2d blue pl.1 AD, two stunning mint examples of the world’s first two postage stamps, each with large part original gum and record margins all round, displaying rich fresh colour, which would make a magnificent frontis piece to a line engraved exhibit.
Expertise: Cert. BPA (1996) for the 1d black and Karl Louis Provenance Cert. (2012).
Provenance: 2d is ex Baron Anthony de Worms and Alan Holyoake.
