5pa Orange-yellow, on 1870 (17.1) Large newspaper fragment, tied by superb strike of the “V.R.POSTE EGIZIANE / ALESSANDRIA” cds, in combination with Italy 1865 1c olive grey, single and block of four, block being cancelled by decorative “ALESSANDRIA D’EGITTO / POSTE ITALIANE” showing Arms of Savoy Coat of Arms, these were added to pay the rate to Italy, an extremely rare combination, apparently one of only two such combinations yet recorded, see Zanaria, Serra & Del Negro ‘Postal Italiani d’Estero’, page 198.
