Lot 60449 – Rocket Mail – Third Reich: 1944-45, an extraordinary lot comprising 19 propaganda leaflets
Rocket Mail – Third Reich: 1944-45, an extraordinary lot comprising 19 propaganda leaflets in German and English, with some very rare examples launched through V1 and V2 flying bombs by the Germans, others being addressed to the German lines (probably dropped from airplanes by the allies), including three very scarce examples launched by the Germans over Belgium and Luxembourg during the Battle of the Bulge: “Laws and Rights for the Prisoner of War”, “30 Days on Leave”, and a reprinted letter sent by Sgt. Jack Zocchi. Few are very slightly damaged in the perimeter by fire or water, or with wrinkles, to be expected as a result of its usage. An extremely rare assembly of historical interest and high significance with the involvement of the V1 and V2 German flying bombs, which were the first cruise missiles in History.
Additional scans and images are being uploaded on a continuous basis, and the complete set of illustrations for all lots will be available by 1 June 2026.
