1872 (Jun 6) envelope from Lagos with a fine strike of the “PAID / AT / LAGOS” crown circle hs in black with despatch cds adjacent, endorsed “Per Steamer Biafra” and rated “5”, “PAID” Liverpool transit and Manchester arrival, a particularly fine example of this rare crowned circle (S.G. £4’000).
