1837 (January 9th) Delayed folded letter sheet from Cork to London, showing the distinctive superb crisp clear 2-line “CORK / TOO LATE” hs in black, single rate of “1/5”, deleted with CROWN, doubled to “2/10” and rate calculated as follows Cork to Dublin 169 miles – Milford to London 258 miles, total 427 miles. 1/2d – 2d packer – Menai Bridge 1d = 1/5d x 2 = 2/10) and finally endorsed “double only”, very fine and a rare usage of the Too Late marking in this wonderful quality.
