Lot 50838 – 1858 1d emerald-green in used horizontal strip of four with interpanneau margin

1858 1d emerald-green on good quality white wove paper, rouletted 7-9 on all four sides, in horizontal strip of four with interpanneau margin in between, thin spot between central impressions and some traces of toning, probably unique interpanneau item.

Note: This item almost certainly comes from the Purves collection where he called this scarce type of roulette the “Harrow” roulette, which is described in Ian P. Greig’s article “Victoria – The 1d Robinson’s Roulette Stamps from his Third printing” published by Philately from Australia in June 2023.
