Lot 10640 – Veracruz 13c engraved on maritime cover to Bordeaux via British Packet
Veracruz 13c blue engraved (consignment 101-1866), graced by very large margins on all sides, tied by cds on dispatch (Schatzkès #1757A) and paying the local postage to the port on October 26, 1866 maritime entire letter to Bordeaux, France. Carried with the British Packet via London and Calais, with Anglo-French currency mark “GB 1 F60c” and 10 décimes postage due charged on delivery. One of the very few transatlantic covers surviving from this issue. Cert. Holcombe (1989).
