Lot 10553 – Mexico 25c lithographed Mexico Name Only cover to Oaxaca

Mexico 25c orange lithographed “Mexico Name Only”, fine to very large margins, on entire letter to Oaxaca dated August 22, 1866, tied by good “FRANCO / MEXICO” cds, very fine and clean cover. 4’000 of the 25c were issued and few covers have survived. NF $100 as a single used.

Note: These stamps without the consignment number, but with the gothic Mexico overprint, were issued in exchange for Eagle stamps at the beginning of the issue.
