1810 ca. Cover front from Cádiz (Spain) to the Governor of Chiloé, hs in red on dispatch by framed “3Pta” single-rate rate marking and “Cadiz” straight-line, bearing “Perù” postmark of Lima (Sitjà type II) in transit. An intriguing usage via Lima, displaying a very scarce application of a rate marking for transatlantic mail.
Provenance: Camino.
