Large wrapper front sent from the Viceroy of Lima to the Governor of Chiloé, endorsed “Por el Rey” denoting official correspondence, paying “78” reales in accordance to 9 3/4 ounces weight, with two strikes of two-line “INTERCEPTADA/DELIMA” hs in red applied in Santiago to correspondence originating in Lima which was not accounted. This handstamp is listed as MPF54 in the S.F.C. catalogue, and this item was chosen to illustrate it on page 16. Seventeen items recorded, and most infrequently struck twice.
