Registered entire letter from Areias to Rio de Janeiro, annotated “Segura” to denote registration, showing “Franca” in ms and signature of the postal clerk “Baptista” on reverse, framed “Va. De..Areias” handstamp, with the area affected by ink corrosions and some usual overall toning. Pre-philatelic registered mail is very rare.
