1872, 20 sen dark violet, Matsuda printing with short tool perforation 12, position 8, an impressive upper right corner-sheet example, well centred with intact perforations well clear of the design all around, very fresh with lightly hinged original gum. Two minute tone spots which occasionally occur in this combination of paper and gum, of no importance. Very fine.A very rare and desirable positional piece displaying the strongest shade of this stamp, highly desirable for exhibition. (JSCA ¥120,000).
