Description

1871, 100 mon dark steel-blue, plate 1, earliest printing, a large margined example boasting a very unusual intense shade, tied to piece by the “head portion” of large “Kensazumi” postmark featuring three characters in Reisho script hs to piece.

An extremely fine and unusual earliest-printing example, further enhanced by the rare “Eguchi” type cancellation (only three covers recorded).
