First Day Cover10pa Brown, single neatly tied by retta cancel on 1866 printed circular sent within Alexandria, the printed circular is datelined “January 1, 1866”, which coincidently is the first day of issuance of the First issue, showing perfect strike of the “ALEXANDRIE / AÏDÉ Père & Fils / ÉGYPTE” oval company handstamp, an important usage on the first day of use, showpiece; ex William Byam.
