Lot 20204 – 1865 Mexico District 3c Brown #71-1865 Eagle cancelled

Mexico District 3c brown consignment #71-1865, one large margin and three tight, touched at top right, cancelled. Just 2,403 stamps produced in 1865-66, and 200 originate from this consignment. Used for a brief period as an experiment on local city mail and being only occasionally cancelled. One of just about 15 examples recorded exhibiting a postmark. Cert. Mepsi (2023), backstamped Bash.
