Lot 20105 – 1856 Veracruz 2 Reales Green on cover forwarded from New York

Veracruz 2r green, a large margined example on July 8th, 1857 cover originating from New York as indicated by its docketing and the merchant sender’s cachet in blue, carried privately to Veracruz where it entered the mails on August 4th. Stamp tied by oval ds (Schatzkès #1744). Filing crease not affecting the stamp, and a very interesting usage.
