Description

1767 (dated inside). Large part of folded letter from Laredo (Spain) to Comayagua, conveyed via Havana and Veracruz, displaying “Vizcaia” marking in black on dispatch, and “España” in red struck at Corunna, rated “3” Reales in manuscript on front. The earliest letter known to Central America bearing any of the “España” postmarks. Ex Sitjà.
