Note: Mr. Heimbüchler states in his book that “The central post office at Jassy already began issuing stamps on 1 November. However, the other offices also received the stamps in good time. But 1 November 1858 was a Saturday. The only letters that could receive a 1 November postmark were those posted 1 hour before the post were collected, i.e. on a Saturday before 8 a.m. Letters from the previous day were still franked with the first Moldavia issue, those received after 8 a.m. were carried only on Monday 3 November and postmarked on that day”. So far, only this single letter postmarked 1 November 1858 is known, franked 40 parale on bluish paper.
