1839 (May 18th) Folded cover sent from Canton, China via Cove to Wellington, Somerset, endorsed “p Orixa“, showing clear crisp boxed red INDIA LETTER / COVE, very fine and a rare usage from China.
Note: Paying the letter rate “1/7 1/2”, 4d India ship letter, 2d Dunmore Milford packet, 1/2d Welsh Additional Half, Cove to Waterford and Milford to Wellington.
