1855 (March 2) Envelope from Aurangabad to Hertfordshire, UK, showing the 10d rate franked by two 1a (S.G. 6-11, die I) and two 4a (S.G 9-19, 2nd printing, head die II, frame die I), cancelled by Aurangabad diamond-shaped dotted cancellation. Handwritten notations on front “Via Southampton” and “P’d in full”, as well as “INDIA PAID” and London receiving pm April 6. On reverse is clear “AURUNGABAD/Paid” boxed postmark in red with dating inserted in pen. A particularly appealing and colourful envelope with the two 4 annas stamps very carefully cut to shape and barely touching design in a few places.
