1876 (March 4) Cover to Alexandria, Egypt, franked with Kingdom of Italy Vittorio Emanuele II, 10c yellow ochre and 20c blue – both of the Turin editions, tied by the 196 numeral cancel of Venice, redirected to Cairo and additional postage applied, 1872 Egypt 1p pink-red, tied by cds of the “Egyptian Post Alexandria” dated 9 March 1876, with arrival in Cairo of the same date, some minor tears and vertical crease, otherwise fine; a rare combination franking of Italian and Egyptian stamps on a redirected cover; cert.
