Description
1896 Olympics 10D Sperati forgery, on genuine paper with genuine cancellation, heavily discoloured around the edges (possibly from the chemicals he used to bleach the stamp), Sperati handstamp on reverse, thought to be unique, this example illustrated in “The Work of Jean de Sperati” part II, ch.4 pl.28, plus 10D Fournier forgery “unused” (thinned).
