1940 (March 27) Airmail cover to Rome, franked with 50 cents violet and 1.25 lire blue, locally overprinted by hand “R.S.R.T.-P.A. / Italiana / Tangeri” horizontally on the 50 cent stamp and vertically on the 1.25 lire stamp, two values used on an envelope, tied with a “R. Stazione R.T. /Tangeri – 27 Mar. 1940”, minor toning to parts of stamp perfs, which do not detract from the significance and importance of this exceedingly rare cover; one of very few examples that have a locally applied handwritten overprint.
