Lot 20330 – Mail sent from Germany and taxed in Ljubljana, travelled during the German and Italian invasion and occupation
1941 (April 1st) Cover from Eisenerz (Germany) sent as “poste restante” to be collected by the addressee in Ljubljana P.O., taxed on 22 May -almost two months after dispatch, during which period Yugoslavia had been invaded and occupied by the Germans and Italians- with “Co. Ci.” 1d overprinted postage due tied by red crayon cross and Ljubljana cds; one month later, on 24.6, was unclaimed and as such with bilingual instructional label tied by cds was sent back to sender.
