Lot 20219 – 1923 (Sept 8) Postcard dispatched on board the “San Marco”with Greek franking
1923 (Sept 8) Postcard to Naples dispatched on board the R.N. “San Marco”, and despite the foreign frankings not being tolerated on board of Italian ships, the Greek stamps were accepted, in this case bearing 10L (2), 20L and 40L (2), tied by very fine strike of “R. Nave San Marco” straight-line postmark, with part of the franking also tied by machine cancel on arrival three days alter. Rare and most appealing.
