Lot 50254 – 1871 10b ultramarine block of 20 largest multiple showing blank space and variety of position 99 probably a unique multiple;

1871 10b ultramarine, on white wove paper, type II, mint block of twenty, with blank space top right, and position 99 showing the “blob under neck” flaw, original gum, 14 stamps n.h., only one stamp touched top otherwise margins all round, superb showpiece block of twenty; a block of 19 is illustrated in the Heimbüchler handbook on page 30; according to our records, this is the largest known multiple showing the blank space and the variety of position 99, probably unique.
