Lot 50001 – 1844 (Apr 23) Wrapper sent registered to London
1844 (Apr 23) Wrapper to London bearing a large manuscript cross (applied in Austria to denote that this was fully prepaid) a good strike of “WIEN / RECCOMAND. / 23.APR” unframed handstamp in black, two strikes of “AUTR./ 2 / FORBACH” cds struck in red, sent via Paris with “Chargé” hs in black, London Foreign Branch wide crown/registered struck in red (W and J 1131a) and paid arrival cds, also some manuscript markings including weight/rate on the reverse, two vertical filing creases and the two French registration wax seals have been cut off the reverse, ex Alan Holyoake RDP FRPSL.
