1783 (Jul 5) entire sent during the French Occupation to Scotland, rated “5” and then corrected to “11” and “2” rate markings, fine “COWES / SHIP LREs” hs, reverse with red AU 30 bishop mark, with contents mentioning that the French will shortly relinquish their hold on the island, fine and scarce.
