1846 (Sep 18) entire letter from Greenock to Bombay, bearing 1841 2d blue horizontal strip of six pl.4 LG-LL (large margins just clear in one spot below LH), lightly cancelled by Scots local numeral type cancel in black, sent via route 1s per oz. Southampton to Alexandria, overland to Suez, then P&O steamer on the Calcutta service via Aden, Ceylon and Madras, a superb and rare cover.
