Description
1840 (Jul 25) Humes comic Envelope no 1, “Britannia Seated on Egg” to the Isle of Wight, bearing 1840 1d. black pl. 4, JC (touched at left), neatly tied by a fine strike of the red Maltese cross, small faults though not affecting the very fine appearance of this very rare usage; cert Brandon (2018).
