1840 (May 22) 1d Mulready envelope, stereo A167, sent from Bristol to Liverpool and cancelled by the distinctive “deep red brown” Maltese cross of Bristol, documented in Rockoff and Jackson (vol.3 p.413) in use between 10th and 31st May 1840, reverse with despatch and arrival ds, a fine “May Date” usage (S.G. £1’200).
