Description
1866, 20r brown carmine, pair and single on cover front to Paris, conveyed to England by the RMSP “Liffey”, with franking remaining uncancelled on dispatch and the single stamp tied in transit by the Anglo-French “GB/2F PK” (salles fig. 3045) accountancy marking applied on printed matter shipments, with alongside red French entry and “20c” due on delivery; the only cover recorded bearing a foreign accountancy marking tying any Brazilian classic stamp as the only obliterator, further enhanced by the very rare printed-matter rate applied on mail to France (and not Portugal); ex Dr. de Amaral Machado.
