Mulready envelope (A174) from London to Truro dated “4 May 1840” two days prior to the first official day of use (May 6), prepaid in cash leaving Britannia left uncancelled the cover showing a red hand struck “1” and London Tombstone; a major exhibition rarity being one of four examples recorded on this date.
